Annabeth Brown is the Owner, Artistic Director, and an Instructor at Get the Pointe Dance Studio (2008-present). As a leader at GTP, united with instructors, students, and families, she strives to challenge, inspire, and prepare individuals to achieve their dreams through a foundation of dance knowledge, style, and technique.
Annabeth began dancing at the age of three, taking a variety of classes throughout grade school, high school, and college. She studied at several local studios including Dance Theatre of Jacksonville, Wanda Kay’s School of Dance, Down East Dance, Dance Theatre of New Bern and Get the Pointe Dance Studio. In 2004, she graduated from New Bern High School, and continued her education at East Carolina University. There, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education, also earning her teacher’s certification for North Carolina, and was recognized as an honor graduate. Her success was evident in her course work as she designed, organized and taught lessons for grades K-12. Courses studied include: Stage Management, Creative Dance, Perspectives, Dance in the Schools and various Technique courses in Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop. During school, she put her education to practice teaching at Little People’s Creative Workshop, Get the Pointe Dance Studio, and James W. Smith Elementary School. Annabeth not only performs well in the classroom but also has had much experience performing on stage. As a former member of East Carolina Dance Association she has danced in several ECU productions as well as numerous recitals and local and national dance competitions.
Annabeth continues to offer her time volunteering and subbing at Craven County Schools, assisting with Dance and Drill Teams at H.J. MacDonald Middle School and New Bern High School, and has been involved in several local parades, performances, fundraising projects, and various community events and civic activities. Annabeth also attends dance conventions, master classes, and training sessions, annually, so she may provide exceptional instruction for her students at GTP. She strongly believes that for her students to learn and grow, so must she. Annabeth looks forward to many successful years at GTP as she continues to share a love for teaching and passion for dance with her students and their families.
Tiffany Mangum, GTP Instructor
Tiffany Mangum grew up in New Bern, NC and is respected in the community as a positive role model and leader for her students at GTP and H.J. MacDonald Middle School.
While attending West Craven High School, she participated in Colorguard and Winterguard, contributing to her team and winning several awards. She then attended East Carolina University where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education. After graduating college, she extended her education in New York City, attending classes in Contemporary Dance at the Alvin Ailey Dance Company. Since 2009, she has grown as an instructor, teaching at several local dance studios and currently at GTP. She also currently teaches at H.J. MacDonald Middle School, coaching the War Cub Dance Team, and has experience working with the New Bern High School Colorguard and volunteering with NBHS Drill Team. She is eager to continue her career in dance education and is excited to share her knowledge and passion with GTP students.
